The Prior Swallowtail Splitboard is a performance backcountry snowboard that provides an effortless, directional powder ride. The proven swallowtail design means that the tail sinks in the powder - as a result the rider can power equally off both feet and does not have to lean back to keep his/her tip up
The Swallowtail Splitboard comes complete with a custom insert pack, Voile hardware and climbing skins. Simply attach regular snowboard bindings and the board is ready to go.
Note: splitboards split apart to ascend into the backcountry with the help of removable adhesive skins on the base of the board halves. At the summit it quickly connects back together into a snowboard.

Conditions
The Swallowtail Splitboard excels in soft open bowl and gladed powder. In addition, it performs very well in the wide variety of terrain ranging from powder, ice, crud, and crust.
Design
Shape: Similar to the Pow-Stick profile with the addition of a larger more rounded out nose, wider waist and increased taper toward the tail section. For 2008, the swallowtail design has been tweaked and perfected from countless powder "test" days in Whistler and surrounding backcountry terrain.
Radius: Moderately long for performance powder riding.
Flex: Sturdy in midsection and behind the rear foot for power, control and stability. The flex gets gradually softer towards the nose for float in the powder without sacrificing performance.
Strength: All Prior splitboards have steel edges and UHMW sidewalls around each board half. This feature combined with Prior's handcrafted sidewall construction, results in board longevity- the Swallowtail splitboard retains its camber and delivers a high performance ride even after several years of hard use.
